I have not had regular or reliable internet access for a while, hence the lack of posts.

Meanwhile, I have my compost bin and the worms. It was an exciting 4 days when we had the worms and no bin. Since we don’t have a lot of “stuff”, we scratched our heads on where to put the worms, and we wound up putting them in a small filing cabinet with wet newspapers and some food to keep them busy. On the second day it began raining and all the worms decided that the world outside the filing cabinet was more suitable for their lifestyle.

Of course this was a minor tragedy for some worms. And the remaining were picked up and stuck back down again until I realized that the environment was probably too wet for them. I put some dry newspaper on top…problem solved.

This is my first time composting…so I am still new to it.

Meanwhile, my new lavender plant has died. I either over watered it, or it didn’t like the excessive heat and sunlight it was exposed to. I wish I read up more on it.

Now I need to look into whether the mysterious eggs forming inside the ceiling of my composter are fly eggs or worm eggs.
