I found out about the Trim The Fat challenge, after the challenge ended. I decided to do the challenge anyway, because this is how I entertain myself. I’m not very imaginative so I’m just going  to use Chile’s guidelines for trimming the fat which are:

1. Spend no money unless necessary. - I’m assuming this will be easy since I didn’t buy anything in February 2008. I’ve been wanting another pair of jeans as my existing pair has too much bicycle grease and holes…but I’ll hold off until April 2008. My khakis also have holes and grease, but they are nice house pants. I’ll replace these in April 2008.

2. Leaner food consumption. - I want to shop for groceries only twice this month. It might be thrice since we’re making a cheese run today. I also need to eat more greens. I like green leafy vegetables, but just don’t eat them often enough. And continue existing good habits. Drink more soup as a snack. Drink more water.

3. Less electronic stimulation. - The biggie. I’ve stopped listening to my mp3 player every where I go so that I am more mindful whereever I am although this means I have to listen to annoying people all day. I need to quit spending so much time online. I don’t subscribe to too many fun blogs any more (the kinds that post videos of hair mousse being set on fire). I really need to quit procrastinating playing video games instead of reading books or knitting. Listen to people when talking to them on the phone instead of reading something online.

4. Trim my bodyfat. Ride bike at least twice a week. To date my excuse has been the weather…but its time to quit being wimpy about the weather now that spring is springing around.
