I went to the farmers' market today and you'll be happy to know that there were no drum circles today. In fact, it was quite nice, someone was playing fun jazz music on the keyboard. (Not smooth jazz. I hate smooth jazz.)

Too funny!

My downside is two young wild childs that want to see, hear, and touch everything. It gets a touch exhausting.

I've taken to taking the wagon so they are contained. They get to much, sip on water, ride in style and count the green beans. We're all happier.

Oooh...but I like music! It would be so generic if it played the top 40 like everywhere else.

I laughed so hard when I read this. What is the f***ing correlation between vegetables and crappy acoustic guitar playing? When I was in college I used to go to veggie food festivals on a regular basis and could not escape the unrequested serenades. It was the joke that you knew you were getting close when you heard the really bad Bob Dylan attempts.

O dear! OK, I hate R&B (the new stuff), club music, rap music, twangy music, drum circles, Phil Collins and Rod Stewart. Frankly I'd like silence, but am willing accept old school R&B or punk. I think "Anarchy in the U.K." would be good to listen to while buying some veggies.

And we're thinking of expanding my search beyond L.A. because I really don't want to accept a job because its the only offer I get. San Diego and San Francisco are now in the running. And there are some hard to fill jobs opening up in San Diego and San Francisco that will pay a relocation bonus that looks very enticing.

Come to N. CA. We have R&B and night clubish music (kinda weird), only occasionally peace/loveall acoustic guitar stuff. No harp or drum circles yet...

Nancy: Well, I've decided to quit drinking milk which I used to drink with my coffee. I've been drinking my coffee black (with sugar) for the past few weeks and I don't miss the milk.
Greenpa has been fridge free for 30 years and the only solution appears to be getting rid of drinking fresh milk as it spoils easy.

I saw something by you on another blog, about turning off the fridge. That is my goal too. But I need to keep milk cold. I thought that logically the freezer portion of the frig would be well-insulated and could be kept cold with ice, but no, the ice (even a 1/2 gallon worth) melts within a day. Any suggestions? I absolutely cannot do without cold milk.

Would appreciate any ideas.

arduous: Please don't scare me and make me reconsider my desire to move to L.A.
I don't want to move across the country and find my happy, shiny food source corrupted by crappy music.

Ahahahaha! The Farmers' Market I went to on Sunday didn't have much in the way of acoustic guitars, but they did have DRUM CIRCLES. I'm thinking that's worse than acoustic guitars...
